Just a reminder from a former Welfare Clerk, the vast majority of welfare fraud is committed by employees, not recipients, and that welfare fraud and "welfare queens" are lines used by right-wing politicians to justify the complete dismantling of the social safety net.
@sanspoint the more left-wing part of me wants to respond with "if a few 'welfare queens' abusing the system is a good argument for welfare to be abolished, then surely it also makes sense to eliminate all the big banks and financial companies that screwed over the economy in 2008, right?"
