I have a better idea.
1. Hide all toots
2. Show those in the user's selected language
3. Allow the user to specify other languages they speak
4. Mark all toots by that user as being in all those languages
This should filter out the majority of toots, leave only a few false positives, and not require the user to filter out a hundred languages they've never heard of.
Masto is great but if we keep getting overblown, silly ideas it's going to fall apart fast

There is a bug report in for the fact the masto process runs as root
Docker does not *have* to run processes as root, so mastodon should not
I see many admins are using Docker for their Mastodon instance. There's no problem in that, it seems so simple, etc. But think about that : process are running using ROOT. And by default, there's no namespaces, so a root user in a Docker container HAS THE SAME PRIVILEGES as the root user on the host. With the amount of technology used my Mastodon, it is INSANE to run it as root.
