Pinned toot

Closing time, you don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

Still, I'm going to try to be more present over here. I'm not making any promises or anything, but I'm going to TRY!

By the way, my friend code is SW-1635-9267-6306, so add me, mother bitches! >:3

I do, however, really dig the longer character limit over here. 500 characters is really… really… really… very nice. haha

I'm still not 100% sure how to make the most out of Mastodon, if I'm honest. The federation system seems a little cumbersome & convoluted, but at the same time it DOES allow for better moderation of alt-right & other shadow communities that spread hate & illegal content in the dark corners of the internet, which is fuckin' dope. On the other paw, I'm not sure if I'm able to manage a unique presence across three social media platforms at the same time. I'm struggling with Twitter & Instagram…

So with functionality and features superior to Twitter, what is it that’s holding Mastodon back? It’s not just adoption fatigue—lack of adoption due to weariness of yet another new platform or service—people are still signing up for new services all the time. Is it a marketing issue, is it public awareness? I’m curious what the tipping point will be for the service.

I hate sending late notices to clients. It always makes me feel like a jerk. 🙁

Unions are a GREAT thing for people. They are bad for companies and millionaires. If you are middle class or lower, and you disagree you are either a masochist or stupid. ANY negatives they have are VASTLY outweighed by the positives (for workers). Helping companies and millionaires doesn’t help you.

Okay, so can someone explain to me, in a concise and clear way, the difference between the Local Timeline and the Federated Timeline? I'm lazy and don't want to look through the documentation…
