Since it’s been a while since I’ve been active on here, I should probably give a (re)#introduction. My name is Ben, and I’m into software development (esp. 🐍 and 🦀) as well as retrocomputing (and a whole bunch of other stuff, like SF&F, musical theatre, and podcasting). I’d been looking for reasons to leave the bird site for a while, and recent events finally gave me the kick I needed to dive back into the fediverse.
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Finally got around to watching Everything Everywhere All at Once, and it might be my favorite movie now. A beautiful, hilarious, heart wrenching, action-packed film, and quite possibly the silliest film that has made me cry. I’m still processing it, and probably will be for quite a while.

Who out there in the #Fediverse would be interested in a federated 3d model hosting service, like a decentralised Thingiverse?
I'm building https://github.com/Floppy/van_dam as a personal self-hosted app to manage local files, but with I think a few changes it could also be a federated hosting tool, and my brain keeps thinking about having a go at making it speak #ActivityPub.
Thoughts, anyone? Worth a go?

I've been pretty vocal about using my following and resources to help spread awareness of new projects and developers, I know what it's like to start from nothing and "compete" with mastodon, peertube, pleroma, etc.
What I don't get is how distant projects are from each other, I think the larger projects should make more of an effort to help out smaller projects.
🎨 A painting/Fediverse experimentation:
With percentages of Red, Green and Blue, you can obtain a precise RGB color definition.
So, please vote for one or more color channel and with the mix of all the votes, I'll challenge myself to paint a fantasy landscape, using the result as the dominant color.
(PS: I'm doing full time inking/penciling on episode 37 and a bit of colored art cool-down would be great! Also I need a bit of 'Fedifun' this week. Thanks for your votes and boosts! )

Personal, covid adjacent
I started doing FediFollows (and slightly later FediTips and FediVideos) as the pandemic has severely restricted my social and job opportunities.
It is such a messed-up situation, I have to do something constructive to stay sane. Hopefully what I do on here is useful to others
My main aim with the "Fedi" accounts is to help people off Twitter, Facebook etc sustainably.
If you appreciate my work, please consider leaving me a tip (links are in my profile).
