Site news

We've reviewed's moderation policy and community guidelines and spoken with their administrator, and we feel that their revised guidelines (found here: ) no longer present the issues that led to our silencing them. We've therefore made the decision to unsilence, effective immediately.

Thank you for your reports. You're helping us keep the instance safe and friendly. Please keep sending them in if you see someone breaking the rules ( ).

Just so you know, there's no automated report handling on; we read each one carefully and make a case-by-case judgment.

Don't forget to mute or block if you see something that's allowed but you personally don't want to keep seeing. No one will judge you; your timeline should be your space.

Your admins and moderators on are:

@Gargron - admin and creator of Mastodon
@maloki - project manager
@CM_noelle - that's me! ❤

If you run into a bug or have a question about how the site works, please contact @Support (we all keep an eye on it)

We like the community here and we want to keep you safe. We regularly check reports and read feedback. Please let us know if there's something we could do better!

Roadmap for 1.5, has been aptly named "Admin Love".
Hope you will all like what's in store!

(Reminder this is an unmanned account, and we will not respond to any @'s )

A friendly remider:
This account does not have anyone monitoring it, so questions are better directed at @Support or one of our community moderators:
@CM_chrismartin @CM_noelle @CM_rushyo @CM_eramdam
Alternatively check out the github for issues ,
or discourse for questions

If you have any feedback on the FAQ Guidelines for how to use Discourse, now is a good time to provide us this feedback.

I will link this thread to the support/admin group working on looking over the document.

These are guidelines which are important for us that everyone on discourse is aware of, and want to follow. So we can adjust the moderation protocol accordingly.

And lastly, we are going to set up a category for the greater as well, where you are all welcome to give us feedback on developments, both socially and technically. My, @maloki, hope is that this can help mend some divides in the fediverse. I will reach out personally to a whole bunch of you as soon as my thesis crunch is over (52hrs to go as of writing this)

In the meanwhile you can set up an account on if you are so inclined.

Further we are really want to hear from you, in the greater community, what you would want from this discussion forum. (on the forum, not in a reply!)

There is currently a thread up where you are welcome to engage in conversation about what categories (boards) you would like to see.

Instance admins have their own discussion board, which we are hoping to expand.

Hopefully we can move away from Discord in this regard. Just drop in and leave us feedback on how you’d like to use it.

Speaking of feedback, we have set up a channel for all of it at which you are all welcome to, to join the discussion.

Step one is figuring out how we want to use it. You can start by joining the discussion here:

Any etc can be directed to this website.

We are Live with our first iteration of which is going to serve as the Mastodon landing page for new users.

It is still a Work In Progress, but we are now sufficiently far along to be able to share it with you.
We want to make it easier for new users to join up.
