While I'm sending out reminders for my various co-op pipe dreams: anyone want to start an #XMPP server run as a platform co-op? We've got a mailing list and chat room, but we need a wider skill set represented before we can reasonably get started! DM me for details! #coops

salt@social.coop I missed sitting across from you, learning about your research at SeaGL diversity dinner like we have so many years. Though I did read you graduated? Or at least defended your research?

Are there any good fiscal hosts for open source software projects operating in USD that either don't charge a fee, or do charge but are operated cooperatively?

I wish there was a a searchable feature-database for QMK-supported keyboard hardware and layouts . I've looked, but only found a keyboard-list by name qmk.fm/keyboards/. Quantum Mechanical Keyboard firmware is what I want for my project, and I have feature needs, but am not yet committed to a specific open-hardware. Suggestions for systematic searches? , , , , , , , @kbp, @mkb,

My concern with social media is that global communications are being moderated by marketing analytic bots. The world's population is being fractured into advertizing bubbles.

This is a situation of bots versus humans. It is early enough in history that we might still have humans around with the ability to control those bots and change their algorhythms.

Here's a little thing that may not be obvious to many people....

When you install an open-source app from Google Play or the Apple app store, there is no guarantee that what you install actually matches the public code.

@fdroidorg are doing a great service. They independently build the public source code for apps from scratch, review for common issues, and publish their builds. Thanks to "reproducible builds" it's possible to verify they do not tamper with the code.

"Do you need comfort or solutions"? Important question to ask when someone is having a bad time. = Note to self who is always in solution mode.

If policy makers with the power to reshape social-media across the globe asked us, . . . If we were on a committee asked how social-media should be reshaped . . . What should we tell them? :delib-rating:
