Popped out with the camera because it was quite starry....but had clouded over by the time I got the camera together. So I tried a shot on dark sky settings, long exposure, wide aperture, mid ISO. Quite cartoony, I like.

An envelope analysis of Clanger homeworld curvature and gravity suggests they are at least two miles tall. We don't stand a chance.

Noctilucent clouds caught by the school all-sky camera during testing. Left hand side from around 36 seconds, heading bottom to top.

First properly automated recording from the school's all-sky camera. We don't get astronomical darkness here at this time of year, so it's not the best time to be testing it!

Sycamore sapling clearly has a wacky side-quest for me...

Project Cyanotype continues. This one worked quite well. All the objects were found (legally!) on the local air weapons range.

Replying to someone who replied to my pic of cross-polarised plastic with a homemade shot of cross-polarised plastic, with a shot of cross-polarised plastic. Using their reply as the polarised light. I think that works.

Getting reacquainted with LaTeX because I need to import equations into Blender to 3D print a mask to use with 1800s style cyanotype "photography". 😂

Remembering jazz bagpiper Rufus Harley, born on this day in 1936 near Raleigh, North Carolina. Here he is performing “Alfie’s Theme” with Sonny Rollins, David Lee, Gene Perla, and Yoshiaki Masuo in 1975.

Cool one via a suggestion from @ Glazgow on twitter...dandelions are highly hydrophobic, you can dunk them in water and they come out dry.

We have had lots of Glossy Ibis spreading their wings around the Fens and the Washes in the last year or two, more commonly seen in Africa, Iberia, and on the Mediterranean.

Here's one of a flock of 9 or so near Berry Fen living up to its name

Please give the photo a boost, be nice that people know about these beautiful birds.

A 24 hour exposure with a SolarCan Puck (solarcan.co.uk/), the streak is the sun going down yesterday before the cloud rolled in.

A halocline - the orange of the river Helmsdale meets the green of the North Sea at the harbour, the peaty (and gold-rich!) freshwater stays floating on top of the saltwater.
