Pinned toot

Hi, I'm Ashley! I'm a queer comic artist and Real Big into vampires πŸ¦‡

I publish a webcomic at obeliskcomic.com! It's about a queer woman unraveling her late father's legacy in 1900s New York.

I've seen the meme making the rounds elsewhere so I wanted to throw my hat in the ring! Margot loves attention anyway πŸ’–

if you're wondering, the book is Beebo Brinker by Ann Bannon! it's the last book of 4 and tells the coming of age/coming out story of Beebo, the recurring butch paramour from the rest of the series

I'm looking forward to backtracking over the rest πŸ‘€

it's dated in many ways of course, but it means the world to me to have that peek into our shared history.

also these are very melodramatic, horny lesbians πŸ‘Œ

I've been listening to the audiobook for a 1950s lesbian pulp novel lately, and it's one of the few that was actually written by a(n ostensibly queer) woman! and my heart!! is very full!!

Eve in the past and (potential) future! She'd be hitting her 40s in the 1920s, and Prohibition made souping up cars a pretty big deal...

I recorded a big ol timelapse yesterday for Backstage Patrons, you can preview it here~ πŸ—‘ instagram.com/p/BrJbIXlhDiK/

for $5 a month you can get access to a bunch of these videos and read ahead on Obelisk too! patreon.com/obelisk

I'm exhausted by social media lately and I want to use mastodon more cuz it feels small and no-pressure... if only I could get it to work well on my phone... :T
