We’ve been hard at work tackling the ambitious scope of work we laid out for ourselves while also dealing with the fallout of a global pandemic, travel restrictions, and loss in our own circles of family and friends.

Despite all of that, we’re proud of the work we’ve done.

And we’re excited to get all of the goodies of this release into the hands of developers and testers as we work to complete the stable release! blog.elementary.io/elementary-

Dear @elementary,

Being able to distinguish which one of many windows are currently focused has been a bedrock feature of graphical user interfaces since at least 1983.

Elementary OS 6 breaks this fundamental user interface paradigm by providing very little contrast between activated title bars and inactive title bars. This is chasing after aesthetics at the expense of basic usability, and is a tremendous mistake.

@elementary
*Please* reverse course on this change. It may be very popular right now, with Gnome 40's look taking the same stance, and almost every popular theme on *-look.org making the same fundamental error, but it is still an ERROR.

And I beg you not to tell me to just turn on high-contrast mode or some other silliness like that. I'm in my 40s, not my 90s.

PLEAAAASE don't break usability to look cool. You're ALREADY cool.

@elementary
oh yessssss :ablobcatheartsqueeze:
elementary os was amazing and now it just got a whole lot more amazing

@elementary Congratulations and all the best polishing this into a stable release. I'm looking forward to it.
