That's also one of the reasons why I like #PrivacyBadger from #EFF more then stupid #Adblocker's. I'm happy to see advertisement if I use journalistic content for free as long as it respects my privacy and isn't a security risk to my computers.
I have 12 Virtual Machines running at home on one server that draws 20 watts of power, i.e. 1.7 watt per VM!
So the electricity cost of running my services at home is 14 cents per day or 4 euros a month.
Und wenn man schon mal gerade dabei ist, dann pimpt man doch gleich mal noch die TLS config... @thomas 😋

Just set-up a TURN server for my Nextcloud Talk instance as I have one scenario in which p2p audio/video is not possible.
Did it in 30 minutes flat including DNS and Letsencrypt SSL certificate setup. Cool stuff!

I'm really amazed how easy it is to renew a Letsencrypt certificate. Takes 5 seconds at most. In the 'good old times' getting a new certificate was soooo painful!
