Well, this has been a long and arduous article to write but I finally have the basics laid out for... well, probably one more article about sound. x_x
But hey, it keeps improving! :D
Well, it's more than two years in the making and I'm far from ever being done with it, but that emulator of mine that started as a fun exercise is now available on github.
Current sound emulation makes it somewhat less playable but Tetris still works!
Still not quite happy with that last article, but it's been sitting around for months, I don't think I can edit it any further and I really want to move on to the next bit...
Sound be hard, I swear.
Psst kid, wanna see an emulated Game Boy boot for real, with animated GIFs to prove it? Happy Christmas!
(Then again the 6502 is fascinating in itself and if Michael Steil can't convince you, nobody can: pagetable.com/?p=517)
I've spent most of last night glued to my TV screen watching a guy make a GPU or a Hello World out of a 6502 and some wire.
The need to buy breadboards has never felt so strong!
(Also I need to check if I can afford another Patreon subscription. :P)
Psst kid, wanna see actual screenshots and learn about palettes, SDL or what the hell is a texture's pitch?
Disgruntled shitposting, with stripes.
