Excellent write-up about the uses of unwrap in Rust. Mirrors some of the recent discussions I got here about std::logic_error in which is the closest equivalent to panic! from

I started with one of the last mandrake linuxes, then mandriva, opensuse, ubuntu, arch and finally manjaro. About 18 years of Linux use ❤️. My Windows installation did not survive my first dual boot attempt 😅

Since so many on C++ Twitter tried out Rust. What is something what is awesome about the language and what do you dislike? (I'm interested in this specific transition to the language)

Nice series, lifetime erasure has been my #2 ergonomic problem with rust when working with zero copy parsers! Up until now I was relying on this one weird async trick, next time I'll try yoke!

Fresh Rust blog posts! Just published a three part series on the crates I've been working on in the context of zero-copy deserialization

Part 1 is on the docs.rs/yoke crate, which makes working with borrowed types easier via "lifetime erasure"

This is fascinating work!

Right now the most common in the OWASP top 10 is "A01: Broken Access Control" — privilege escalation — and this is a crate which might be able to help guard against that by enforcing authorization rules during compilation!

Come to think of it I've never tweeted about ImHex—it's made by a friend and is easily the best free hex editor available, competitive with paid options (trust me, I've tried them all, and also attempted to make my own. twice)

Absolutely give it a shot if you need a hex editor twitter.com/c3rb3ru5d3d53c/sta

I think GraphQL is quickly moving to one of my least favorite technologies. Building an efficient query system for the server is almost writing a database and as a user it has a lot of rough edges. Good idea but man is it complex.
