there are so many layers and abstractions here and this doesn't even begin to scratch the internals!

I need to use Fisher to install bass so I can use nvm on fish to install npm to install nodejs so I can transpile Svelte to TypeScript which I can transpile to JavaScript which outputs more JavaScript that my browser can run

"I installed node!"

"You should've installed npm. Start over"

"I installed npm!"

"You should've installed nvm. Start over"

"I installed nvm!"

"npm ERR! code EBADENGINE"

JavaScript is fun but everything feels wrong. The Svelte hello-world is 24 MB across 1400 files and that's not including the browser or anything! Almost all of that are node modules. That whole "left-pad" debacle breaking everyones projects makes sense now.

(This isn't a joke, you can alias commands to emoji!)

Back in 2020 I made a shitpost card game with stolen (see: 'fair use') art, to practice using Gimp's Python interpreter. I haven't published the code yet but I probably should?
