So #FediCraft is my Minecraft server for the Fediverse. I enjoy being its' admin and it's not going anywhere

But I know that MC isn't #free or open enough for some people. Not to mention that Minetest is a bit more extensible, can run on other kinds of devices, and seems to reach further into the ideologies I find permeating FOSS. Even at the expense of gameplay.

Would there be interest in an additional #MineTest server for the fediverse? A #FediTest?

Boost this and let's find out.

:boost_ok: :ablobcatwave: Please boost this post if you would like the EFF to join the fediverse. :ablobcatbongo:

In a survey the EFF sent me, I suggested they create an account on the fediverse, so they can reach more supporters and support innovative free software that promotes interoperability among platforms, something they've advocated for in the past, too.

If you can boost this post, maybe I'll be able to show them that there are quite a few users who would like them here!

The EFF is the infamous nonprofit organisation that fights for privacy, government transparency, and digital freedom. Their fight is very important, and the EFF is very special to me.

You can see some of their work here

In the meantime, you can follow @eff, which is an unofficial mirror of their Twitter.

Trying to work out how to share my Fedilab toots with for future reading.

magellano boosted - its approach to smart contracts and anonymity sounds quite elegant. This is a very interesting read

The Particl Marketplace is a very attractive idea but will it really break the monopolies given that the average web user is even too lazy to ask whether there is a world outside Amazon?

Is there anyone that really believes this? "... because frankly we don't currently have a strong reputation for building privacy protective services ..."

Does the Guardian have it right here? "... Facebook's long term commercial vision is for more encryption .."

Dear web developers and admins,
please stop embedding Google's hideous #ReCaptcha into your websites. Its algorithm is faulty, forcing regular users to click dozens or even hundreds of fire hydrants, bicycles, or traffic lights each day. It puts a 'suspicious activity' flag on users who won't obey to Google's business model - such as people who don't sign into Chrome, use anonymity VPNs, or use browser extensions to suppress common tracking mechanisms. Enough is enough. Stop it.

It may be conspiracy theory but I read somewhere that in October 2019 Bridgewater Funds ( betted on a collapse of world economies by March 2020 ... what a coincidence! They must have a crystal ball ...

Tried tonight. Great open source videoconferencing although unclear how a free service is making a living. Also believe its not end2end encrypted. Need to think of alternatives. Maybe Nextcloud Talk which is e2e encrypted. Seems like either of these two solutions are the real open source contenders to Skype ...
