One of my professions is designing patches and sounds for musicians. It shifted a bit to creating musical patterns now that these patches are capable of playing whole sequences of sounds. Like a sample but way more flexible. The down sound to it is that it sometimes feels like cheating for those using these patterns. It’s like writing a book with a lot of prefab text. But I guess this is the man-machine balance we are all looking for, right?

Recently when playing live guitar over old tube amps and a couple of pedals I really felt that stuff is lacking over modern digital stuff. Tubes are overrated :)
