Supercharge is a cool new Mac app that lets me:

- add cut/paste to Finder
- open Passwords with a universal keyboard shortcut

And much more! youtu.be/hp-WMYZQ75U

@matt what do you mean, the finder has had cut/paste for years. 🤨

@stevenodb What are *you* talking about? 😂

It's in the menu, but you can't do it to files…

@matt Copy and then hold Option and look at the menu.

@matt In case you're still don't know what @stevenodb is talking about, ⌘C/⌥⌘V is how you're supposed to "cut"/paste files on Finder.

@AltCode @stevenodb Oh lordy, that is 100% undiscoverable! So it's "copy" and "move" using different shortcuts than cut/paste everywhere else in the system 😂😭

Good to know, though, thank you!

@matt @AltCode it makes sort of sense in a way that Cut (on Windows) is also not Cut like with text, the file isn’t moved to a clipboard and moved to the final location when/if you Paste, as you could easily forget to paste and lose the file. Cut/Paste for files is too destructive and isn’t supported.

@stevenodb @AltCode This is how it works on Windows though, right? If I "cut" and never paste, the file just never moves. I get how this could make sense in theory, I just think it's one of those things where you can justify it with logic, but users never find it intuitive and never use it.

I say this as someone who has logic-ed my way into explaining why the feature I built made sense, even though users found it confusing or never discovered it in the first place 😂

@matt @AltCode you’re right. It was just always different I presume and many Windows refugees never adjusted to / discovered it.

@stevenodb @AltCode Yeah, and I've been using a Mac since 1995 and just learned that this "copy and move" flow was a thing!
