My birthday present to myself arrived. 40 year old console (1982 vintage Atari 2600) for a 40th birthday.

In box, with all documentation etc.

I've been playing with an AppKit prototype recently and was reminded of the FANTASTIC NSToolbar notes @marioguzman created.

I'd like to point out that my upcoming Music MiniPlayer will do its best to be true to the original "Graphite" in Mac OS X which had a bit more blue to it. It wasn't just plain gray. It goes for the window controls & the button highlight color.

Hoping to watch the rest of crypto and web3 grift collapse.

It's rare to actually have good news nowadays.

Automator is one of the secret heros of macOS - such a powerful tool for quickly completing tasks.

Apple kind of did the iPod dirty.

I would have loved to see them hold back the announcement until WWDC and give it a proper send off. Make a nice video to reflect and thank the teams who worked on it.

Instead, a press release on a Tuesday. Dang.

Trying to imagine going back to 1985 and telling someone their computer would eventually have eight multi-gigahertz cores, and yet the cursor would still lag behind you while you type

Because me and my wife both work from home on our own businesses, our concept of weekends is a tad off. So we opted for a Wednesday to be out mid-weekend.

To encourage a new ritual, we started baking together. This thread is our bakes!

The makers of @pixelfed, the Fediverse photo sharing platform, have just created a slick new guide to the Fediverse at:

It's got a list of Fedi projects, a list of mobile apps for Fedi platforms and an opt-in directory of people to follow.

The directory is particularly interesting as it works very differently to FediFollows or Trunk. You add hashtags to your profile plus a special extra hashtag #Fedi22, then submit your profile to the site, and it will become searchable for the tags in your profile.

(And, yes, Mastodon is part of the Fediverse, see here for details:

Why does Siri do this so often?

I will request something, and the first response is along the lines of, “sorry, I can’t because something isn’t installed.” When I try again immediately, it works.

It happens on my Watch and HomePod all the time.

To be clear: this isn’t disappointment in them individually or personally, but that we have effectively given up and moved on while people continue to experience a potentially life-changing illness.

Hearing about friends getting COVID in the last week after dodging it this whole time is so disappointing. I really hoped we would have handled it better than this. 😔

I wrote a side project in Go a few years back and never really got hooked (and eventually sunset the project). I'm feeling more appreciative of Swift after reading and consider the points in this article.

Good grief... it just gets better.. more rich, and more wonderful.

THIS. 1000x.
