"allvm-meta" is now public, containing little meta but two items that are worth sharing couldn't be more different:
* The ALLVM Logo source files and renderings
* Most (?) of the bsd kernel module I wrote for close-to-bare hosting of enough of an LLVM JIT to codegen the bitcode for FreeBSD kernel. From 2013! \o/
The latter isn't documented and is missing some minor bits (patches for uclibc, LLVM, etc.) that once I get a spare weekend I'll search old backups for.
this is still the most compelling piece of propaganda I think I've ever seen
<< I'd had a tab open with a bunch of text for about 6 hours and I've been meaning to read it and I haven't yet.
the best part? it's about ADHD and how it stops you from doing things. >>
Oh my god, this made my evening
Also included in musl 1.1.23 are the new math library implementations of single and double precision exp, exp2, log, and pow, by Szabolcs Nagy, giving 2x-3x performance gains.
musl 1.1.23 just released, including the long-awaited @email@example.com riscv64 port. https://www.openwall.com/lists/musl/2019/07/16/3
Lucky or did the not owner crank up the crazy? Hahaha
but I mean tell me this isn't beautiful
One 'complex infinity' number which also counts as 'not a number', but is a perfectly good number (pretty much exactly James Anderson's 'nullity'... just without also the other two infinities). No overflow or underflow states; numbers just stick at MINPOS and MAXPOS (and, I assume -MINPOS and -MAXPOS) (minimum/maximum possible) rather than zero or infinities.
That last diagram is 7 bits getting you a million times dynamic range (+- 1/1024 to +- 1024/1)
ok I think I have maybe reached a new low of nerdism, but,
John Gustafson's 'posits' floating point format is a thing of beauty and I am in awe
the bits! they align!
also, exponents of exponents of exponents
when your numbers aren't quite numbery enough? MOAR EXPONENTS is definitely what you need.
Are other instances like this? Is this some settings-guided hell I've accidentally constructed for myself? :/. I'm kinda hoping it's not just me, but even so I hate to have such a thing be the reason to avoid using the idea of mastodon and indeed the contacts made and such. Okay very promising response, will report back....(YAY MASTODON SAVIOR!)
Okay guys, here we go. I really like mastodon, and have found discovering and engaging all kinds of awesome folks happening naturally with a S/N ratio that's unreal. <3 mastodon, <3 you all, okay?
But this interface. Please help me understand. No attack, just totally lost among columns of unknown origin or purpose that I'm unclear how to engage. Side-scrolling becomes my favorite activity (?), and threads require focus or a dedicated window to track :/. AM I USING IT UPSIDEDOWN OR WHAT?! D:
Nix, linux, font
Picked up someone's request to package up the Victor Mono font: https://github.com/rubjo/victor-mono which I hadn't seen before and is another great programming font kindly offered for free! (consider donating if you are especially enamored and able)
Test-drive it and compare among many other great programming fonts here: https://app.programmingfonts.org/#victor-mono
nixos configuration, day 24: in which i realize i have been swindled into creating a linux distribution
there is a great software for note taking called joplin. As this app also provides task handling there is a notification function based on gsm at the moment.
So we are searching for an alternative to create scadualed notification in react native.
Thanks and help is highly appreciated!
