Wonder of Science

Stunning images of Jupiter captured by the Juno spacecraft during a close flyby in October 2018.

Video credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/SwRI/MSSS/Gerald Eichstädt

@wonderofscience Same color scheme visible within Juno's cockpit.

@wonderofscience this looks beautiful and frightening at the same time

Nice!
@wonderofscience I'm wonder why that turbulent cloud formations are not moving. Are they so big that we can't see their moves during so short video?

@yuridm @wonderofscience
Pretty sure this isn't a single video but lots of different photos put onto a 3D model.( Or at least some post processing as there's some weird pop-in of images at the edges and some weird distortions.)

Doesn't fully explain why there no movement but the flyby might've been pretty fast?

@wonderofscience The most astonishing thing for me of the whole Juno mission was that Jupiter was as much blue as it was orange and white and red as we'd seen it post-Voyager
