Fica a dica...

A few days ago, Manés Weisskircher and Manuela Beyer published their first joint study as part of the #REXKLIMA group. Their article analyses the case of the #far_right ecological settler movement community #Anastasia which, in the context of environmental activism, discursively centres on the positive emotion of #love.

To learn more about the importance of love for far-right mobilization read their article.

Hat tip to this Brazilian judge, with the ethical clarity required to stand up to Elon Musk's disinformation machine.

"Alexandre de Moraes, the influential supreme court judge responsible for the ban, had been spearheading an attempt to force X to purge anti-democratic, far-right voices in the wake of the January 2023 uprising in the capital, Brasília, carried out by supporters of the former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro."

Exposing the Real UK Race Riot Instigators: The Key Players and Transatlantic Network Around Tommy Robinson

"One of Robinson’s financial supporters is an American multi-millionaire Trump ally, Patrick Michael Byrne, who encouraged Trump to overturn the 2020 Election, spoke at the January 6 rally, and maintains ties with a Russian intelligence agent sanctioned by the West for promoting disinformation about the invasion of Ukraine."

Nafeez Ahmed uncovers a worrying nexus of tech platforms and far-right conspiracy – with links to Europe, Russia and the January 6 insurrection

Remember in 2020 when MAGA hordes were trying to overthrow a democratically elected government Twitter suspended Trump's account. Now, Elon Musk owns X, as Twitter is now known, and not only has he restored Trump's account, he has played a role in fermenting far-right riots in the UK after the electorate dared vote in a Labour govt. I think the US govt should be preparing to block Twitter in an emergency situation.

Sharon Graham:

“It wasn’t the migrant who crashed our financial system in 2008. It was not the migrant who imposed austerity.”
“We need change now. Not waffle about responsible spending or fiscal rules.
“None of this talks to the worker or their community. It just plays into the hands of those that seek division.
#Labour has one shot. If they fail to deliver, the populist right will emerge ever stronger.”

We all thought it, Dame Sara Khan publicly says it.

"Conservatives left UK wide open to far-right violence, says former adviser"

"Khan, who wrote a report in 2021 with the current Met commissioner Sir Mark Rowley calling for a change in the law on extremism, said it remained the case that it was legal to stir up racial hatred that is not threatening, abusive or insulting."

"There’s a serious duty on our #politicians to not engage in inflammatory language; to not use, for example, #dehumanising language about asylum seekers, #refugees and, you know, people who are coming to our country."

Joe Mulhall, head of research at anti-racism research group Hope Not Hate.

“That reflects the nature of the contemporary far-right. There are large numbers of people engaging in activity online but there’s no membership structure or badge - there are not even formalised leaders, but they are directed by social media influencers. It’s like a school of fish rather than traditional organisation.”
