It’s been a long time coming, but the new 16e is finally featuring Apple’s very own "C1" modem. We’re excited to dig in on our table — stay tuned!

Driven by pure curiosity, I decided to buy the cheapest gigabit switch from Grandstream. For a truly small amount of money, I became the owner of the GWN7700 model, which features five Gigabit Ethernet ports. I was intrigued by the question of what chip is inside... I wondered if Grandstream uses some cheap Chinese-made solution in their budget models. The manufacturer doesn't boast about what solution they use in the specifications ;/

All is not right in the world. One interesting detail was that I got the pancaking effect going on for the first few floors. I do think I need a few fire mods to recreate a Towering Inferno scenario. The default mechanics do let wood burn, but it doesn't seem to weaken or melt metal.

#Teardown-Time!

Scrapping an old (only 2020 vintage) OCT system. It's junk. We have never really got anything useful from it, and the driver board has utterly failed now anyway.
I decided to look inside the spectrometer. The whole thing is built from 3D printed parts and epoxy glue. It was never very stable, now I see why.
It even seems to have part of a repurposed DVD drive in it!
