My colleague at church offers an annual event, Be Loved, this time of year where folks come together to share love poetry to the divine and to enjoy eating and making chocolates together. It was a lovely and delicious afternoon. #Anglican #Chocolate

A prayer I wrote yesterday for Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Prayers of the People at St. James Cathedral in #Chicago.

Our community is a bit unique in that at our 11am service, individual parishioners write the prayers of the people. Each week it is different depending on the intercessor but still reflects the structure within the Book of Common Prayer.

Thanks @RollingStone for a GREAT article about the National Cathedral and the #Episcopal Church. A positive but balanced story beyond the typical narratives.

IDK that they have Matthew Shepherd's ashes. His parents were concerned that no matter where is grave was, it would be desecrated by the Westboro Baptist Church. The Cathedral volunteered to keep them safe.

John Dod, Puritan minister, on pure religion from James 1:27. Charity is not totality of religion, but sure sign of faith. God would have children of God respected and relieved.

Today, is pity something that some in the church are trying to de-prioritize?

How can you be pitiful and liberal towards the Children and Saints of God?
