Amsterdam_XXXThe “Rasphuis Poort” (grate house gate) is situated at Heiligeweg. In the 17th century, it led to the ‘Rasphuis’, a correctional facility for vagrants and later a reformatory for juvenile offenders. <br> <br> Inhabitants were put to work grating Brazilian wood into pigment powder for paint. 🎨 🇧🇷 🪵 <br> <br> Built around 1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣3️⃣, the gate was the outermost of two, with the inner one long since gone.
