One of the fatal flaws of the #US #Constitution (aside from the slavery, indentured, classism, sexism, etc) is that it’s entirely dependent on the goodwill and morals of the #President. I.e. There is no practical way of removing or even disciplining a corrupt president and no practical way of enforcing judicial decisions upon them.
The US is essentially a semi-representative oligarchy with an elected monarch. An informed reading of the #Federalist #Papers shows that was the intent. Some of the founders, as the recently idolized #Hamilton , advocated for an elected, but lifelong presidency.
I often advocated for constitutional revisions and a modified parliamentary system to make the presidency more accountable. However, given the tendencies and gullibility of the US electorate, any constitutional changes would likely be even worse.
