I'm seeing a lot more sunrises now that we have a puppy. Amazing cloud inversion over Linthwaite and Slaithwaite this morning. Had the SLR around (again due to the puppy) so got some amazing shots.
A long awaited day finally came: Rosey Bean's first visit to the puppy play session! (At Dragonfly in #Slaithwaite.)
There were 7 dogs, aged from 13 to ~20 weeks, but sized from cavapoo (ish) to Great Dane. Rosey was super excited when she first arrived - chasing all the bigger dogs! - but with a bit of encouragement, she calmed down a bit after that.
It was delightful, watching them all play together. Can't wait to go back!
A couple more photos from our visit to Wainhouse Tower, including a view of the Moorside Edge antennas in Slaithwaite #halifax #slaithwaite #wainhousetower
At the start of the year, I took a stained glass class at Globe Arts in #Slaithwaite.
My first project was a gannet, inspired by the ones that flew alongside our boat in Shetland in April. I love the watery texture in the blue - very much like the seas up there. Tilda seems to approve too!
I didn't have much time for my second piece so went for something with more straight lines. I didn't realise until I brought it home that I'd done the burger piece upside down Still: fun!
Five days later and the car is still there but "the wind" seems to have pushed it a bit further down the hill and out of the road. In this case, I think "the wind" is actually the local farmer. Much quicker to get down to the village now!
I drove down this same road the day before this happened and noticed it was very icy but was driving so slowly I was made it along fine. This person wasn't so lucky! #ice #snow #huddersfield #slaithwaite #yorkshire
My morning walk became an afternoon one thanks to procrastination. Hurrah for procrastination.
I walked towards the sun until it set behind the hills then I turned around and headed home.

It's damson picking time! Got ~8.5kg which is quite a bit more than last year's 3kg (most lost to the wind as we were too ill with COVID to pick them). Going to make more jam since that was very good, will be giving some to the neighbour but might also make some wine! #gardening #damsons #jam #wine #yorkshire #slaithwaite
Haven’t been through #Slaithwaite for a while, they’ve completely rebuilt the canal wall since I was last here. This stretch used to be full of signs warning you the bank might collapse but it all looks rather nice now! #canals #HuddersfieldNarrowCanal

We've been "snowed in" for a few days (we could get out on foot but not in the car). In addition to the general (25cm) blanket of snow, there were many drifts that were 60cm+. Many snowy stomps have been taken, snow angels made and snowballs thrown at each others' heads.
Then today it was 11°C & sunny and suddenly nearly all the snow went away. Today's walk featured brand new rivers & lakes to navigate. Fun!
I do love it when familiar landscapes are temporarily made new.
