Rupert Reynolds<p>I see no hashtags for <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/TK5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TK5</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/HerculesTK5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HerculesTK5</span></a> so here goes.</p><p>I've been playing with TK5 (Turnkey Hercules/MVS 3.8j) and I was pleasantly surprised at performance on my laptop-well over 200 mips showing if I give it work to do--much faster than the first (1988) <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/mainframe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mainframe</span></a> I used :-)</p>

Rudi<p>I'm impressed at the graphics so far, I've been able to watch videos and naturally I tested <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/hercules" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hercules</span></a> for <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/ibm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ibm</span></a> 370 <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/mvs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mvs</span></a> a la <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/tk5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tk5</span></a> and the improvement over the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Pi3B" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pi3B</span></a> alone had me order an <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/OrangePi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OrangePi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/orange_pi_5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>orange_pi_5</span></a> / <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Pi5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pi5</span></a> 16GB </p><p>Most of my daily software is available on ARM, except for official <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/GoogleChrome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoogleChrome</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/VMWare" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VMWare</span></a> Horizon- I haven't started with x86 emulation/conversion but the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Pi5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pi5</span></a> I have coming is 2.5GHz, a massive improvement over the 1.5GHz <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Pi4B" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pi4B</span></a> and the 1.2GHz <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/Pi3B" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pi3B</span></a> so I'll happily wait!</p>
