@junesim63 @Bing_Chris @feditips would journalist want their employer to moderate their social media accounts?

@Plutonaut @junesim63 @Bing_Chris @feditips
That’s like asking would you want your company’s email to have a firewall for spam.

Um, yes? 🤔

@paninid @junesim63 @Bing_Chris @feditips
Or would you like to always fall under the supervision of your boss?

Some journalists use their social media account solely to promote their work. But others also give their private opinions. A number of outlets might not like that.

People with professional accounts on here tend to have multiple accounts, one for professional stuff and another for personal stuff.

All the apps and interfaces support multiple simultaneous logins.

@feditips @Plutonaut @junesim63 @paninid @Bing_Chris

That’s exactly what I do.

@jlgatewood for the semiprofessional stuff and this one for boosting, testing and playing around with ActivityPub programming generally.

Then there’s @starrwulfe where I’m currently building my own ActivityPub compatible instance from a Wordpress blog foundation.

There’s way more functionality and flexibility with this platform than any of the walled gardens could offer so it’s important to have different accounts so your followers can access different facets of your content if that makes sense. :☕ :

Also, if you have your multiple accounts on separate servers, if one server goes down the other account will still work.
