@lamp I mean, if I take a high end screen and decrease the brightness, the colors dont get worse, it just gets less bright, so I think its not the backlight.
But wouldnt calibration help? https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000194424/how-to-calibrate-lcd-panel-color-temperature-in-windows-10
@lamp ahh its trying so hard
Before trying to fix it... I wonder if it isnt perfect to use for emulating old handhelds like gba and systems like megadrive and snes and ps1 and such? With a CRT filter? That might make it look more like the originals did back in the day lol
(oh and for reading texts. I wasnt joking, its easier on my eyes to type fanfics or read large texts or even use discord or this site on that HP probook then the TV connected to my pc as main monitor)
@lamp fair but this one does work really nice as a general use monitor xD
Finally together with that old dell I have a decent usable amount of monitor space (50 inches xD)
@lamp@kitty.haus @UkeBLCatboy@mastodon.social Why do news programs even bother with the breaking news texts when everyone was using those 4:3 tv screens not designed for text?
@mikunuma @lamp More importantly, this is a 32 inch full hd philips smart tv (it was free to take downstairs for some reason in perfect condition like brand new so I put it as monitor), modern tv like this IS designed to display text - or anything - its just a fancy monitor with build in apps and android that also happens to have HDMI and other inputs...
