Broadcom tried to jack VMware prices by 1,050 percent, AT&T claims
Broadcom "preventing some vendors from selling products to us," AT&T alleges.
@arstechnica A 1,050% price increase sounds rather wild when... VMware's products have competition, right? Even free competition?
I'm sure it's not easy for a big company with a lot of servers to move to Xen or KVM, but it sounds like a good way to convince customers to find a way to do so, in the long term.
@arstechnica The price hike is really bad for the tech industry, Broadcom and the good name of VMware. However the idea of ATT getting stuck with a giant bill makes me giggle.
@arstechnica @stroughtonsmith the kind of services revenue price change the App Store team can dream of!
@arstechnica Broadcom should just leave the price the same but add some 'additional fee' items to the bill. AT&T should be used to that.
