Big, beige ’80s PC case started out as a joke, but it’s becoming real in Japan
You can fit lots of modern hardware inside—and prop your monitor on top.

@arstechnica the cd reader, comes in handy
@arstechnica fuck, no, now they're coming for even more stuff i like
@arstechnica add in a beige retro keyboard, mouse and even a beige monitor. And you’re looking at spending serious money to make your setup look like a bunch of old crap. Very, very, tempting.
@sheean @arstechnica Honestly a horizontal CPU box and a monitor on top is quite a reasonable form factor. Saves table space by stacking things vertically, and discourages hunching one's back to look at a low screen.
@glennmagusharvey it made a lot of sense with the chunky CRT. I doubt such a setup would fit (or be nice to work with) on our fairly narrow desks at home. Could go full 90s and get one of those keyboard drawers extending from under the desk or something
@arstechnica The square status leds really send me back.
@arstechnica I’d buy this tbh
Put in an actual floppy drive and price tag it.
@arstechnica I just thought a few days ago I'd like a PC case in an actual desktop rather than tower format...
@arstechnica reminds me of those ultra modern entertainment systems that are made to look like analog dial radios from the 1940s
@arstechnica What is needed is an X68000 case copy. That was a cool case.
@arstechnica
I thought it was funny that all the drives in it were labeled as branded Clucial...
@arstechnica throw in a Turbo button and I’m sold!
