I finally got around to assembling a plastic storage cabinet and privacy tent (to block UV radiation) in the backyard to house the resin printer I bought many months ago but have been afraid to use without good ventilation. I'm focusing on projects to avoid thinking about the current news cycle, so I may be getting more done than usual over the next few weeks...
@geekmomprojects 3D printer camping!
@geekmomprojects my resin printers are in my garage which seems to be fine. I do wear a mack when I'm handling resin but there's no real odor from the vat when it's just sitting there with the lid on.
I did do one print in the house when I first got one. Never again!
@geekmomprojects *mask.
I don't wear a macintosh
@InstantArcade I've played with UV cure resin before. A mac (or raincoat here).is probably useful!
@geekmomprojects I did cross my mind as I spotted the typo.
Seems a bit overkill though.
@geekmomprojects I've had one for a few weeks now, and still putting off the moment of pouring toxic chemicals over it for the first time.
@ancientjames I get it. It's daunting!
@geekmomprojects This is inspiring.
We have an old, disused coal room in our cellar that has a window (that was used as a coal hatch back when the house had a coal furnace and range). Our plan is to face the inside of it with drywall, put in mats, and run a ventilation intake fan/fume exhaust vent in the window, for the resin printer and spraypainting hood.
But that's fairly far down the to do list. Until then, the resin printer and wash and cure wait in their boxes.
