I've alerted media to the fact that #ElevanceHealth is breaking the law multiple times. No one has done anything about it.
@jenzi I never heard of them so I went to their Wikipedia page.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevance_Health
Their "Controversies" section could be an entire page on its own!
@BeAware I worked there for 7 years. At the end they were worried about "discovery" unearthing our phone calls - they were moving to deny people physical ID cards so they could not seek medical care.
@jenzi healthcare in this country is a sham.
@BeAware It literally is. The whole insurance offering is designed to put a chatbot between you and a doctor. You can't see anyone in person, they make you pay out of pocket - but if you talk to their doctor on the phone it's free. It's call steering and it's illegal.
@jenzi wow...what the absolute fuck.
They're colluding with the govt. That's why they haven't done anything.
@BeAware No, this is all done in secret. They are only getting the government involved when they have to, that way they don't tip anyone off.
On several calls they said "Be careful what you say, this is a recorded call". Recorded calls on "#AnthemLink" should be leaked.
@jenzi I just assumed based on their medicare/medicaid affiliation.
Makes sense.
I feel this happens with LOTS of businesses unfortunately.
Healthcare is just so shitty for this to be happening in.
@BeAware No one ever tried denying ID cards before (or since). They claim they can give a digital ID card and it's all the same, however many providers won't take it. And if you're in an emergency you can't unlock your phone like how they pick your pockets.
