back in the day there were record players where you could put more vinyl slabs on a spindle for "continuous play", so you could play side 1+2 in a combo and 3+4 later.

@roadriverrail @kompaktkiste @slevelt @vinylrecords sort of. Poorly made ones allowed the record on top to slip, damaging the record. Some better designed ones could adjust for slip.
@kompaktkiste @slevelt @vinylrecords My copy of Beach Boys - Endless Summer is like this and I thought it was an error until I looked it up to see if it was valuable and discovered these existed.
@kompaktkiste @slevelt @vinylrecords pretty sure those are 78s, which lasted 5 minutes per side. And you only stacked records like that if you didn't care whether they got scratched. Audiophiles didn't stack records. I know. I was there.
