#NoFrills has been putting the maple leaf signs on their price tags for a few weeks now but this is the first time I’ve seen the black tariff triangle.
@krssctt It’s common to all Loblaw-owned stores.

Do they identify *all* US sourced goods though? Otherwise people cannot exercise a choice.
@NovaNaturalist @krssctt I bet not theirs (noName and PC) !!
@Bowreality @NovaNaturalist @krssctt It'll be an interesting marketing balance for them. The text of that sign makes it sound like the purpose of the "tariff triangle" is to identify the reason for price increases, so they don't get accused of gouging. And the items with price impacts could include made / packaged / processed in Canada items with expensive ingredients (citrus, almonds, etc) imported from the US.
But the effect on lots of consumers will be just to avoid those items if they can.
@AmeliasBrain @NovaNaturalist @krssctt I am convinced they will keep increasing their prices regardless of tariffs. Now they can just jump huge on the T marked ones. They are the first ones to gouge anyways.
