I hate writing email as much as you do but this is for an important cause!
How did we end up in this situation where we have to learn about these kinds of critical votes from blogs and Mastodon posts? Why isn't this being reported on at all in any mainstream media?!?!
This might be a radical opinion but I think scanning every message and image sent online within the borders of the EU is pretty dystopian.
@m4ra I have been thinking the same. This is a pretty big deal to be missed by media... Which makes me think they are either extremely incompetent, or straight complicit.
@danielcasanueva I’m starting to understand why they say history repeats itself. After Snowden you’d think collectively people would be on the lookout for threats to encryption. Didn’t even take 15 years and we are sleepwalking right back into a mass surveillance state. Depressing.
@m4ra It truly is depressing. But I think we shouldn't lose hope.
@danielcasanueva Exactly, have to keep resisting. ️
@m4ra @KasparRosagerLudvigsen It seems the Sweden government has decided to go along with the Belgian proposal https://emanuelkarlsten.se/regeringen-kuppar-igenom-chat-control-kan-klubbas-i-eu-redan-onsdag/
@m4ra it's on 20th now.
@m4ra do we know how sure the "no" from Austria is, @rene_mobile ?
