noyb has filed two complaints against #Microsoft (365 Education) for violating children's data protection rights!
The company shifts responsibility for #GDPR compliance to local schools...

@noybeu Sure, Microsoft should be held accountable, because in practice that's the de facto data controller. But it doesn't mean schools shouldn't be held accountable as well. After all, who signed contracts with Microsoft without ensuring sufficient data protection?
If the data controllers (schools) were held accountable, they would have to break the contracts with Microsoft, and Microsoft would need to adapt their strategy. There is really no excuse for the data controllers for letting Microsoft abuse children's privacy in the first place.
@noybeu Exactly like is happening in Denmark. This Thursday we'll talking about it on the @publicspaces Conference in Amsterdam

@Wtebbens @noybeu @publicspaces It is even more frustrating in the United States. Many vendors are capturing student information.
@noybeu Well, that situation is the same that Google exercises on Blogger blog writers. "Blog owner" is responsible for data of blog readers, but data is collected and used by google itself.
@noybeu Being the father of a child affected by this, I totally welcome this initiative.
