@mattl I feel like Bluesky was a major let down. We already have decentralized social media (Fediverse), if anything we need to work on how to give it the reach of a Twitter. Bluesky is proprietary, and the protocol is under an MIT license, instead of being a web standard. I can’t help but see that Bluesky isn’t a benefit to anyone but itself. Ironic, considering it’s incorporated as a benefit corporation (which I normally support).

@mattl because at least the servers appear to be. I know the protocol is in the MIT license. Licensing isn’t the issue for me though.

@pmarrone I think everything was released from the server to the mobile apps.

@mattl that’s good, I stand corrected. I would still have preferred the protocol be a web standard, and would still prefer to boost the signal of the fediverse. But OK, I thought it was worse than it truly is.
