I just randomly remembered learning that Bluetooth technology is named after a Danish king from the 900s (as in the year 900, over 1,000 years ago) named Harald Bluetooth… which seems like a made up fact but is true
Even the logo is allegedly the runes of his initials, HB, which ALSO seems made up
I learned that fact over a year ago while visiting a museum in Denmark but I think my brain didn’t know what to do with it so it just filed it away and decided to surface it just now while I was brushing my teeth
Next you’ll be telling me that wifi was named after Rosemary Wifi, the patron saint of trees who lived in 40 B.C.E.
