Frames trump facts. People are buying into the alternate reality that authoritarian Republicans are creating.
Authoritarians are winning the communication war. They are have invested in #messaging and #media outlets for decades.
Dems moving to the right failed -- again. There is no "center" in US politics.

@tanyatussing meh. Unacknowledged: some pugilistic progressives did well. Where Squad members lost, it was either due to vast R resources or being primaried by corporate dems (hypocritical, since these progs were scolded for primarying incumbents).
Lakoff thinks we can rephrase our way out of the shitty reputation corporate dems have engendered. If so, why haven’t decades of him saying this and candidates embracing his ideas helped?
