ALT TEXT
Inia
@PunkRockTrans
“Every trans woman I’ve met are the strongest willed people I know”
(Image below of a famous example of survivorship bias. The red dots indicate bullet holes on WW2 bombers that returned. Someone wanted to reinforce the parts where bullet holes were found until someone pointed out that the other parts of the plane were the places where bullet holes brought the planes down, and thus no data was collected.)
My apologies. I edited the image after the fact to add the alt text back in, but for some reason, many still cannot see the alt text, so I copied and pasted it in the reply above.
Sorry for the confusion, everyone!
@tofugolem maybe if i show this image to people they’ll stop giving me shit for being strong willed
@tofugolem every single professional woman I met in India (circa 1999) was strong-willed in that way.
I wrote an open letter to management — when they announced that they were cancelling all the DEI programs — pointing out that every woman in tech for >5 years is a superhuman made of $#&*ing steel and spite for these reasons
... And thus, for _purely_ mercenary reasons, it would be smarter to retain the Diverse Slate/Rooney Rule for senior positions especially
It was totally ignored, but it felt good to say it out loud
@trochee @SallyStrange
If we don't let less qualified white males get jobs over women and minorities, who will white males feel superior to?
@tofugolem @trochee @SallyStrange
They might just realize their own inferiority
@tofugolem I carry this on my bag as a reminder to myself, and a conversation starter.
@tomjennings the credit for the design goes to @FinalGirl
Well it's graphically pretty and sharp, sad, terrifying, punk as hell and angry. The background to the aircraft story obviously gives it depth, but even without that, the implications are fairly clear. Yeah totally great badge and image.
@tomjennings @anyia @tofugolem and here I thought it wasn’t good enough
Nah it's great!!
@FinalGirl nope you’re totes awesome
@tofugolem Even ignoring the most gruesome, depressing interpretation you probably have a Jill/Jackie Robinson effect too

So many people that just never transition and try to deal with the dysphoria
@tofugolem
There doesn't seem to be any alt text? Maybe fedilab's just buggy
@avesbury_rosetta
The original post lacked Alt text. If was since edited, but many cannot see the edited version. Look for the text in a reply.
