Sweet for breakfast is common in most of France, to be honest. I think Spanish people like their sweet things for breakfast as well.

OK, OK, I had a LOT of pain au chocolat VERY LATE today, but it still count as breakfast.
Salty breakfast is more of a germanic / anglo-saxon thing but I am not holding that against our neighbours!
@ParadeGrotesque @stefano @justine I grew up in a German colonized region in southern Brazil and for breakfast there is a lot of bread with schmier (jam) covered with a layer of cream, a slice of cheese and another of ham.
