Sorry. Corporation are by definition not loyal.
They'll do what they have to do to optimise their bottom line. The question is only how short term they are thinking.

@WarnerCrocker @davidtoddmccarty One of my early "jobs" as a freelancer taught me that.
Our direct boss was rather loyal to the people he brought over to the US, and who were in a vulnerable position (e.g. their work visa required them to leave the US after 7 days unemployment, so the CTO made sure that he took them with him when the VC made the startup implode).
Now the "corporate" promises were not worth the electrons used to communicate them.
