Fun little airplane detail: This is a Bristol aircraft (CF-WAC), converted to Canadian Registry by Ward Air. They sold it to Lamb Air in November 1970 and was flown for only 35 hours before it hit a lump of frozen mud on takeoff and crashed. The pilot was not severely injured, but the plane was destroyed.

Large aircraft sitting on snow. The nose has doors that are opened under the cockpit, exposing a bit of the inside cargo space. One large 4-blade propeller is visible on the wing, and there is oil and soot scaring on the engine cowl. There is a red stripe on the plane from the top of the open door, down the body of the plane towards the tail. There are many people (probably more than 50) gathered around the plane. They are dressed in parkas and many have gloves, hats and scarves on. Based on the height of people on the ground, the front of the aircraft is probably at least 30 feet high.
Large aircraft on packed snow. There is a line of pine trees in the distance. The plane has a bulbous nose and has a red stripe wrapped around the nose and extending to the tail. The cockpit sits above the round nose, and set back a few feet. The propeller is running and so there is a sheen where the blades are turning. The engine is mounted under the wing. Both front tires are visible and are connected to the engines with a thick strut and another strut extending from the wheel to the body of the plane to provide extra stability. There are windows in the front of the nose at the bottom. There are square-shaped passenger windows along the body of the plane from behind the nose to near the tail. The sky is a blue-grey. The image is obviously reproduced from an old negative that has degraded and there are scratches, pinholes and smudges in the image.

There are two people (probably teenagers) dressed in all black snow coats and snow pants running away from the plane in the foreground. The plane is blowing snow and ice back towards the runners. The plane is sliver with a red stripe, outlined in black running down its length. The tail is large and silver with red on the top tip and a round symbol that cannot be clearly seen. The wings of the plane are also silver with a red tip. In the far background, there is a row of pine trees.

There is some snow covering the top of the plane, and there are footsteps in the snow from the foreground to both the nose of the plane and a door in in the rear of the plane. The nose is buried in the snow and is crumpled. There is a red stripe visible on the nose that is obviously no longer straight. One of the propellers is visible and partially buried in snow and one blade is visible and clearly bent. The wing is still attached and extends into the foreground. The flaps are extended on that wing. The tail is rising out of the snow and the rear passenger door is open or missing. There is a red stripe outlined in black down the body to the tail, and you can just make our the name "LambAir" in script black letters, outlined in white on the red stripe. The tail is intact and the vertical stabilizer is silver, with a red tip. The letters. "CF-WAC" are visible on the tail in black letters. It is clear that this plane won't fly again.
