We have a lot of really big, professional artists signing up on .art over the last few days, and it can be daunting posting your art here in the face of their work.
I want you to know that I'll still emphasise boosting art from small artists. This is a space for us to learn and grow and support each other, to motivate each other and to squash our impostor syndrome because it's a stinky lying liarpants.
@Curator it always helps me to know that even many of the Big Artists struggle with imposter syndrome. It only deepens the more successful you become for many
@AbandonedAmerica Yeah absolutely - not just in art but across all professions. I have a colouring book published by Barnes and Noble and my default brain state is "haha one day these people are all going to realise I'm rubbish!"
@Curator totally get that. When I was but a wee nerd who went to the library all the time I thought if I ever got in a book in one I'd level up or something and I never did. But also, come on. You KNOW the art you're doing is awesome. You totally should be proud when you look at it and that's okay.
@AbandonedAmerica When we had the last big wave of users in April I saw a lot of people were hesitant to post their work after seeing so many wonderful artists here, so I made the #ArtBrave tag. The people watching that hashtag know to treat the posts with kindness and to provide encouragement. Post your photography there <3
@Curator I think it's really cool that you put so much thought into encouraging others. You're a mensch!
@AbandonedAmerica You misspelled menace
;)
@Curator you can be both.
@AbandonedAmerica Oh wait - this was supposed to be a reply to @dorothyporker about their photography - I think I didn't realise that I was seeing two conversations going on and that one was replying to only me
@Curator @dorothyporker@mstdn.social I was replying to you but also idk what is going on any more because I am also pretty sleep deprived
