On Buddhist NYD I was woken at 4AM, to hike and scramble up this peak with two locals to lob home made explosives off the top to ward off evil spirits. We could hear the village prayers and chanting from above. Many jokes about damp fuses.

The rock is a mid grey with buff sandstone mixed through, there’s no vegetation except some scrubby trees on top, between which prayer flags flutter colourfully in the wind against a clear blue sky.
