When you're feeling low or dispirited, what's a piece of entertainment that picks you up again?
For me, it's either the irrepressible cheese of the Flash Gordon movie or the irrepressible cheese of a Shantae game.
@ChrisJagged Any Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie. And the original cast album of the Broadway show Xanadu — amazing voices singing terrible ELO songs.
Weird one for me, but it would be Nathan Lowell's Trader's Tales. First Book is Quarter Share.

It's a "boring" science fiction series about a guy learning the ropes on a cargo ship, and the friends/obstacles he meets along the way. No powerful villains, no great treasures.
Very human story about flawed individuals going about their lives. I find it kinda meditative as an audiobook series.
@dicenbuttons I recognize that author!
Wild, small world I guess! Here's got a great voice, feel like he's underrated.
@dicenbuttons I just mean on here. Mastodon is definitely a small world!
Ha! I never think to look for "known people" on Mastodon, I just kind of assume they aren't here T_T. I just followed one of his (apparently three) accounts though. Learn something every day.
@ChrisJagged Drawfee for me. They just have a delightfully chaotic energy that makes me forget how much everything sucks.
@VampiresAndRobots I do enjoy Drawfee. I've really hit the point where I don't care if they draw anything or not, they've just become my Thursday lunchhour at work
