I feel so conflicted about how easy it is to just find a new game to play every time you touch anything that can play one. It has been so long since I had a game really capture my attention for the long run. When there only a handful of releases I learned to cherish the few things I had access to. Playing Super Mario 3, Metal Gear Solid, and Sonic Adventure until I had most of maps memorized is not something I think I could do now.

Not only am I strapped for time due to the various responsibilities of adult hood so I end up playing less over all, and the fact that something incredible is launched almost every week. The flood of cool indie games and sort of weird AA games getting made now is a real blessing because there is something for everyone, but I don't even get to touch most of them before I accidently don't play a game for 2 weeks and then want to play something new and novel.

I was doing pretty well early this year by completing GTA5, Alan Wake, Control, but Alan Wake 2 is huge! And now that I am in a state where every blink seems to last 2 weeks I end up playing 2 hours of an odd smattering of things that I have fun with and keep meaning to get back to. Halo Infinite's Big Team Battle is so fun, Pentiment has been really engrossing and I do genuinely want to finish it, but I have been wanting to play something faster, so Watch Dogs 2 got 5 hours.

All this to say I'm downloading Immortals of Aveum and I hope it is just a loud high fantasy romp.
