I hunted down the article...mostly for the schadenfreude. It does not disappoint...
"#Musk is killing #Tesla His lack of integrity, lack of internal consistency, and deeply fascistic leanings are now on full display for the world to see. And the world has responded by violently throwing up in their mouths..."

@EdCates
I'd only argue that Musk *is* integral and consistent. e𝕏-Twitter and Tesla are means to an end of, IDK, becoming world's most powerful dictator with the most fragile of egos.
Still his wealth is directly tied to Tesla meme stock with a car company attached, and hitting Tesla is is hitting where it hurts him (and I love it).
If America still has courts...
@That_Damn_Frank @EdCates
Could work in Germany, too. Damage claims worked good against #VW #Dieselgate.
At the time, I had a VW Jetta VR6 (gasoline). I think by you they called it a Bora.
I can't say anything bad to VW... I loved that car! Moon roof open, cruising speed 80-85 MPH, 5-speed stick. It drove like an extension of my hand!
Maybe it wasn't a True sports car... but it was enough for me.
Sadly, all cars wear out over time...
@EdCates Yes, and quit X while we're on a roll
@EdCates this is marketing, and it demonstrates how mercilessly capitalism is. The coup-de-gras is swift
@seasiders2 @EdCates “Coup de grâce”. No dashes needed. Gras would be “fat”, so “coup de gras” would be a “fat slap”, maybe.
@EdCates Shared this with my sister, who rattled off a defensive list of reasons why she didn’t want to part with her Tesla.
At the end of the day, we have different priorities.
@ymasumac Have you pointed out to her that it's the "Wile E. Coyote" of "self-driving" vehicles?
Simply excellent!
@EdCates I’ve driven polestar and I love this for them. This will be Volvos breakthrough moment for electric.
Polestar's are much better cars. The drive like a Volvo or BMW but with more zip. Totally different feel from a mushy Tesla.
@mastodonmigration Yeah, in the article the author points out that this discount brings the Long Range Dual Motor variation of the Polestar 3 under the cost of a Model Y, and the Polestar 3 is simply a much, much better automobile.
It's a great car.
@mastodonmigration @EdCates For anyone who doesn't know, Polestar is a Volvo spinoff.
@BruceMirken @mastodonmigration @EdCates
Volvo, in turn, is 78.7% owned by the 2nd largest non-state owned Chinese car maker Geely.
@EdCates It’s a good car. Very popular in the nordics.

Rocket Lab will soon launch the new Neutron rocket in direct competition with the Falcon 9. Fingers crossed that is supported by a lot of companies currently flying SpaceX.
@EdCates Polestar is a Chinese made and owned company. So not exactly enticing either from a politics POV.
(Look nice though)
@EdCates would absolutely go for a polestar over a tesla! .... if I had a few more spare pounds.
@EdCates
Polestar produces all its cars in China. Not sure that freedom of speech and democraty are more respected there. So i'm not sure that these brands have to be respected too. It has a price, but democraty is way more valuable ! We need to focus on cars produced in strong democratic countries ! (Europe, Canada, Australia...)
@EdCates
Learning from Zombieland: always double tap, so it stays dead!
@EdCates this is fine, but lets not pretend Polestar is swedish. Polestar is Chinese.
Also: I don't want to see Tesla die. I want to see Elon Musk completely disassociated from it. Having no stake in it at all.
@EdCates Hyundai makes amazing EVs. They are so underrated and very few talk about them. They even have a spicy Ioniq 5 N model that outruns many sports and supercars, but it's rarely talked about, everyone just shoehorning Tesla everywhere.
@EdCates Is (Owners of) Polestar a lesser evil than Musk, when we enable them?
