New edict from the increasingly desperate and embarrassing overlord at the birdsite: you are no longer allowed to link to or mention your username at these sites: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post.
(Note that racist havens Gab and Parler are not on the list.)
Twitter says you can’t bypass the new stricture against posting your screen name on another site by spelling out “dot” to avoid URL creation, or to share a screenshot of your handle on a competing platform.

@ygalanter they say they’re blocking link shorteners and such. They’ll block that one too.
@HelenKennedy @ygalanter a simple workaround is to add it to the graphic/picture used for your banner, except followers have to see it, an app won't work.
I wonder if they'll figure out that many instances don't have "mastodon" in their name...

@HelenKennedy My handle has not been affected yet, but when it does I won't fight the suspension. I'm not changing it and I'm done. Twitter has become mostly unpalatable so I'm there less anyway. The feed algorithm is annoying.
