@MakerTube I'm curious. How much more expensive is it to run a PeerTube instance than a Mastodon? It seems like Mastodon has a lot more messages flying around, but video streams are much bigger.
Do you have any data yet?
@kbob Good question, so far the site generated 125GB outgoing traffic in two weeks of existence. But I have no comparison to a Mastodon site. Luckily traffic is included but limited by 1Gbit interface of the server.
@jrp Sure, join in! There is no upload limit but of course I expect people to be reasonable so it stays accessible to everyone.
@MakerTube channel synchronization is disabled on this instance, the #youtube hashtag in your post had me believe the opposite. is this permanent ?
@tobozo maybe I’m going to enable it at some point in the future. Currently keeping it stable while growing and get sufficient funding is priority. Sorry.
@MakerTube Looks interesting!
@MakerTube do you have the technical specification for the types of videos people can upload and the limitations online somewhere?
@MakerTube Ah OK, it's a PeerTube instance. I will look at the PT documentation.
